What you practice is the result of your beliefs or philosophy. Private philosophy produces
public performance. Beliefs produce behaviour. Your beliefs produce your behaviour, or we
could say it this way, ‘Your behaviour depends upon your beliefs!’ What you commit to and put
into practice will produce the results of your life.
Private philosophy produces public performance!
Muhammad Ali, one of the greatest boxers in history said, “The fight is won or lost far away
from witnesses—behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance
under those lights.”
Years ago, a plastic surgeon who observed the average healing times of his patients, came up
with the “21 Day” hypothesis. He coined a term and wrote a book, Psycho-Cybernetics, that
proposed the theory that it took 21 days to build a new habit, or break an old habit, or create a
new lifestyle. Millions of people believed it. But in most cases, it’s just not true. Some habits
will take months to become a part of your life. It takes effort, discipline, conviction, and
perseverance to create new habits and only after you have been released from old habits.
It takes a daily walk with God. Author Malcolm Gladwell revealed in his research that the
greatest experts are those that have practiced something a minimum of ten thousand hours!
That’s commitment, not just a preference. Conviction trumps comfort.
What you feed becomes stronger. You must be committed to feed good habits. Create a
personal atmosphere of spending time with God; you’ll need this strength when the storms hit
this year. And, they will hit! Spend time (create the habit) of building an arsenal of verses to
defend yourself in times of attack. I recommend pages of healing verses, blessing verses,
overcoming verses, etc.
Furthermore, build a daily ritual and stick to it. Build habits that build your life—and also build
the lives of others. Make it a conviction of your heart. Don’t back off, stay determined and
committed. You’ll feel better about yourself and your life and your attitude will be more
positive. Consider getting up an hour earlier; read your Bible, pray, do a physical workout,
declare your positive confessions, and consider writing two positive texts to friends, and so on.
Remember, your life is not about your present circumstances…circumstances change daily!
You’re not building your life around circumstances but rather around truths and principles that
will last forever. How you handle circumstances will depend on your daily habits, especially the
spiritual habits that connect you with God!
Practice the daily habits of a Godly lifestyle and build a life of enormous satisfaction and great
success.
